I don't think Gordon has a very high success rate.

I don't know Kitchen Nightmares but have watched Ramsay's similar show Hotel Hell. Any place bad enough to be good TV drama is bad enough that it will be difficult to fix. As with addicts, they have to hit rock bottom before they will accept help. The unifying theme is that people went into a business lacking most of the skills and attitudes necessary to be successful in it. Some of the owners are merely clueless and those might have a chance, but most are clueless assholes and it's a lot easier for Gordon to fix their menu than their shitty attitude.

he can't change their personalities if they refuse to. Since they purposely seek out bad restaurants it's not surprising most do not do better.

I know there were a couple that did improve. The one in Manhattan Beach, CA did better afterwards but then the owner also changed the way she was doing things.

I do think it's a service to the public to show bad restaurants. We put our lives in their hands literally.

...of these places are so far gone that they are going go under with or without him.
