I do not believe corruption arises from depression.  Instead,  it is natural consequence of instinctive behavior -- territoriality, dominance and predatory behavior.

When a depressed person focuses on corruption, it can be a sign of avoidance -- externalizing issues, as a way to avoid having to address them.   Or, what I've heard called "free floating anxiety".    You start with physiologically based anxiety, such as from lack of sleep, and then look around yourself for an explanation for it in your environment, and "attach it" to something.     This is the way in which depression can ruin a relationship, when a depressed persons blames their free-floating anxiety or anger on the person standing closest to them.

You look at someone and say, "YOU.  You are causing me to feel like this", and the bewildered and besieged person looks for the nearest exit.

I was diagnosed with Double Depression -- dysthymia and Major Depression.   My experience  is that the best cure is to focus on the physiological health, and personal boundary issues, and the depression will subside.
