If you have to add that to your comment, don't comment.

In fact, once a comment is hidden, just quit commenting. It's like a contest to see who can be the most witty under a stupid hidden comment.

And, yeah, "I'm out of donuts or...." is a stupid thing to say. It takes two donuts to hide a comment and everyone has to pile on like it's an act of righteousness. WOW. You clicked the circle on the right. RAGE ON! DAMN THE MAN! YOU ARE AN ACTIVIST!

And yes, if you're on the far right of the page when commenting, just shut up. It's been said a dozen times already, and you're just baiting someone at that point.

All that being said, I do like meta and have always been truthful about that. Most people here do, they're just not honest about it. But I've never understood why "meta" has to be synonymous with "useless." Meta is a good thing, we just tend to make it tedious.

    P.S. I am not a crackpot.

"through the hiddens" I've learned that some of the most interesting diaries/threads I might not otherwise see come up that way. Also, of course, stuff I wish I'd never clicked on.

And, although 2 hrs is enough to take a comment out of sight, it's the pileons and the comments under them that, I think, usually lead one or more people to actually reporting a troll or other saboteur. This can lead to a much faster resolution of a problem than the Autoban algorithm.

At least half the future I've been expecting hasn't gotten here yet. Sigh.... (Yes, there's gender bias in my name; no, I wasn't thinking about it when I signed up. My apologies.)
