    the Hobby Lobby ad right away.  If you look at the bottom of the page you see that it was written in conjunction with "Wallbuilders". This is the organization headed by David Barton, one of the most nortorious and proliferate pushers of bogus American history in the country.

    Anyone who knows anything about the Founders in terms of their religious beliefs knows that it is really skating on thin ice to quote Thomas Jefferson and try to make him appear to be a Christian or a believer in anything more than a detached Deist god.   But Barton and his ilk do it all the time.  That Hobby Lobby quote is from  chapter 18  in Jefferson's Notes on Virginia. He was discussion slavery, not his own religious beliefs. But this is what Barton does... he pulls things out of context, cobbles phrases together with missing parts and sometimes all out lies about quotes (hence the great book by Chris Rodda- Liars for Jesus).
