    and for the furniture images. We have a couple of stumps out in the holler, near Cotter, Ark., that would make lovely tables, I think. Also, small cedars several hundred years old growing out of rocks on the high bluffs at the Buffalo National River nearby. They have so little nutrition, they stay small, but survive. Thus saith the park ranger, anyway.

    At sunset, it's still 93 here, and since the sun came around to my NNW exposure I've been behind double layers of insulated curtains. High was 97, and 99 predicted tomorrow before we lose about 10 degrees for a while. No rain last week or projected, but that's not unusual for July in the Ozarks.

    Not so many observations from behind the curtains, only the tiger lily buds finally turning orange.
