  •  I suppose there's something meaningful (0+ / 0-)

somewhere in the hullaballoo over a "celebrity chef" but I'm amazed anyone even wants to find it.   CNN went orgasmic over the story.  Something to the effect of " We'll be back to our coverage of the humanitarian disaster in Xyzistan just as soon as we present this exclusive interview with Paula Deen's sons as they fidget, whine, and snivel that their momma is getting the shaft..."

My guess is this is front page news at Pustule, er, People Magazine where people go to learn the latest trends in how to display their narcisscistic personality disorder.

I understand the importance of discussing and fighting discrimination ... but the importance given to the utterances of this lady boggles my mind.

I think we can learn from these sort of anecdotes.  When I read the complaint, I am boggled to think that white employees are allowed to use the front bathroom, but the black employees are not.

Of course, one can go too far ... way too far ... but you are always free not to read the piece.

That's the story for me here. Not that it's just Paula Deen. Clearly it's Bubba too, and just how many Bubbas are there?
The fact that Paula thinks it's ok and normal indicates its far more pervasive than it should be.

      •  What we know right now .. (0+ / 0-)

is that accusation is just that, an accusation by one employee.  We don't know that's  'the truth'.  Looks like more is coming out that refutes Jackson's claims.

        Jackson's partner denies ...

        Former employee refutes claims .....

I suppose the real actual truth of the matter is somewhere in the middle, but seriously, I  feel 'we' ( meaning left leaning internet folks) have gone over the shark and have become that which we detest on this issue: overly prejudiced.  For just one example ...from this very diary ...

        start yammering their "Y'all" gibberish.
That's how some southerners (including myself) talk.  Making fun of that is inline with making fun of folks using  'axe' for 'asked', and 'we' just don't tolerate that around here (rightly so), so why do 'we' not only tolerate, but applaud this?
Because 'we've' come to detest anything southern.  That bothers me.

Nothing changes without public pressure: public pressure doesn't happen without dissemination of knowledge and 'true' facts. Bit me FOX.
