Unless President Obama turns into a total isolationist, he is now a neocon, huh?  That's some nice binary thinking that you have going there.

I love it how you blame the President even in regards to Iraq, despite the fact that we withdrew from Iraq in his first term.

The only way to do that is, of course, to disregard facts and project some evil intentions on him.

    It's definitely not reality-based, though.

According to your logic, socialist party French President Hollande must be a neocon, too...

      •  Let me get this straight... (0+ / 0-)

you call President Obama a neocon and then move on to accuse me of hyperbole?!

You have watched, as a frontpager, DailyKos turn into Daily Melodrama and Hyperbole over the last couple of years and you  accuse me of hyperbole when I point out that your hyperbolic use of the word neocon makes no sense and is not reality-based?!

        My point stands:

Just because President Obama is not a total isolationist, it does not mean that he is the opposite, ie. a neocon.

The world can't be neatly divided into tidy, little black and white segments, no matter how much some here try to do that.

only after Iraq refused to extend the US troop authorization.  AND he has refused to allow the Authorization of Force in Iraq be overturned.

We still have tens of thousands of troops on the boarder of Iraq, thousands STILL in Iraq "training" Iraqi troops.

It is not isolationist to not deploy troops to other nations and bomb them.  Isolationist is to refuse to trade with other nations, not offer humanitarian aid, and bomb other nations for not doing as the US tells them to.

What Obama said he would do was talk to other nations, not bomb them.  he was going to pull out troops as soon as he got in office.  he was going to end the war on terror.  he was going to make the US respected again.  Instead he became Bush III.

Stupid question hour starts now and ends in five minutes.
