    Your entire thesis in this diary is based on specious reasoning unsupported by fact.

    Normally, I would spend a lot of time posting links that would provide you and others a better foundation for discussion, but I don't see the point here because your purpose to deflect responsibility from the executive branch and fabricate narrative that blames this on some sort of Republican CT.

    Which is very insulting to the whistle blowers that have been prosecuted (unsuccessfully) and persecuted (more successfully) by the previous and present administration.

    If you were actually interested in the facts and willing to do the work, you would probably writing something quite different now instead of peddling this nonsense.

      Obama should be thanking Snowden, right? Because Snowden will do more to hold the FISA court accountable to the public than this powerless Obama ever could have. Therefore, since this diarist is so convinced that Obama is somehow trying to turn around the surveillance state, quietly, and from the inside, then he must be very grateful for the boost that Snowden gave to his cause, right?

      Strange that it doesn't seem to be playing out that way...
