  •  Ah, nothing like gratuitous religion-bashing. (0+ / 0-)

Did you actually read the 1millionmen website, or did you just read the Daily Beast article and regurgitate it?

Here's the thing - if you go read the site, they're focusing their efforts entirely within the churches.  There are no calls for government action to ban or limit porn, there are no grandiose plans for a march on short, there's not one word that could be construed as preventing others from having/watching as much porn as they would like.

All they're saying is that they don't think porn is a Good Thing, that it goes against their religious teachings, and that they want to help folks who believe as they do to get away from it.

There's nothing intrusive there, nothing political there, and nothing offensive.  They aren't telling you that you can't have porn; they're just saying that they don't want any.

It sure looks like yet another "gee, let's just bash religion" diary...

The word "parent" is supposed to be a VERB, people...

    •  Yes, I read the website. (0+ / 0-)

I also read the testimonials of those who endorse the program, and those testimonials are by right wing organizations that try to push a Christian values based agenda on the government with the lobbying they do. I mention this in the diary. I also discuss shame which can a have a hugely detrimental impact on a human being.

Read what you need to in it. Perhaps it seems like it's religion-bashing but maybe that's because religious groups and cults are the only ones that bother shaming people for their sexuality.
