    •  L. Ron Hubbard is not a favorite of mine. (0+ / 0-)

I never read the scientology crap. No thanks.

I tried a few of his books back in the day, and then put them down and moved on to something that appealed.  I didn't know about his politics or religion when I was a teenager, but even with what I know now, if there was a story I liked, I would enjoy it and not dismiss it just because his beliefs and politics differed from mine.

    •  A book suggestion from 2007 (0+ / 0-)

The Chinatown Death Cloud Peril by Paul Malmont.

The characters in the novel are Walter Gibson (creator of the Shadow), Lester Dent (creator of Doc Savage) and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard. It also has H.P. Lovecraft in a minor part.

It is total fiction with some history thrown in.
