with careful regulations on all of them. Too much potential for abuse in any of those things.

I do not consider myself to be a libertarian, but regulating things people do is wrong. Criminalizing the secondary effects of dumb things people do is great. Don't shoot your gun in a room full of other people. Don't get high amd drive. Don't take out your aggression on innocent people. There are bazillions more, but you should get the idea.

Prostitution unregulated exposes women to being exploited by violent pimps and the rapid spread of STDs.

Euthanasia unregulated leads to plugs being pulled in violation of living wills or the wishes of the family.

Weed unregulated leads to sale to minors, unsafe farming and packaging practices, and possible adulteration.

Your points are all well taken and presented. I don't use alcohol, smoke dope, or own a gun. Others do.

If one's relationships are such that a prostitute is wanted, then one ought to be available. Some of these men and women who rent themselves actually like what they do. Without the pimp-manager, the actors just get a bigger cut.

If you have so few friends that no one is with you to follow your instructions when it's your time to die, then you are screwed. Perhaps if you had led a better life . . . .

All drugs should be legal, even prescription medicines. Really stupid people, young and old, would sort themselves out fast. Marijuana is a complicated issue. My personal response is I would probably set up a hydroponic rig in a spare closet and grow my own reefer, if I were so inclined.

Ultimately, in a society, even a socialist hive collective, the individual is responsible to the other people in his group, as well as himself. Not hurting others is the key.

own a gun, nor have ever employed a sex worker either.

That's not really the point though. Yes, people should have the right to make their own choices, but those choices should be without hidden surprises and there should be protections in place. That's all.
