    to shed themselves of rotten gov't. They have teh no-confidence vote option.

    Just because it is the American tradition to have hard-and-fast X-year terms for various offices that does not mean hard-and-fast X-year terms in office define democracy. Perhaps that sort of hard-and-fast office system should not have been adopted For Egypt's initial foray into representative democracy.

    If Egypt had instituted a parliamentary system Morsi would presumably been thrown out in a no-confidence vote. And no one would be calling that anti-democratic. Maybe Egyptian democracy isn't so much broken as they adopted a system which fits them poorly?
