    Cancer, no matter how minor, changes everything and it can pounce on you anytime, anywhere.
    Yes. Absolutely.

    Do you have ways/places to let yourself grieve now, and to allow yourself to be comforted? I do hope so.

    I'm not sure what words to use to describe your BIL's remark. Ill-considered at least; disrespectful too. It's really not appropriate for other people to minimize your experience of cancer.

    Yet if he's the father of the boy with NHL, then he is probably processing his own grief and fear. Few of us have many skills in that area beforehand.

    Hugs all around. May you always remain in remission, and may your nephew achieve it too.
