  •  Well maybe not (11+ / 0-)

The more the GOP pulls the crap they're pulling in states like NC, TX, WI and so on, the more they imperil themselves.

Just doing a rough count I found about 70 GOP reps who won with under 60% in blue or purple states.  It would take a wave election to take most of them out but in states like Florida, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan and so on where there will be a very unpopular or polarizing GOP governor at the top of the ticket, that may be helpful in getting progressive voters to the voting polls.  In some cases maybe even wave forming.  Dems only need to flip 17 seats in 2014 and hold the Senate.  Add in states like North Carolina and hell even Texas where the grassroots are pissed and swelling and there is the making for maybe not a nationwide wave but enough ripples to flip the House.

      nothing.
Without the Senate filibuster reform, nothing passes.  You might get some recess appointments if the house allows the senate to recess, but I am sure there will be a gentleman's agreement prior to that that Reid will honor.

These capitalists generally act harmoniously and in concert to fleece the people, and now that they have got into a quarrel with themselves, we are called upon to appropriate the people's money to settle the quarrel. Abraham Lincoln

Are you aware that Tx is the top cotton producer in the US.  There is a major drought and no state wide water policy to address it.   The GOP of TX is about to loose the farmers and ranchers....they probably will never vote for a Dem. but they just might not show up on election day.
