  •  why is it "obviously" a pile of nonsense? (0+ / 0-)

i have no idea and no interest in knowing Boehner's intentions. But from a GOP standpoint, i think his proposal makes perfect sense. they dont trust that democrats actually want a secure border (since more, if not most, immigrants vote democratic). thus, why would they approve of legal immigration reform first, which is the part that democrats want (and which by the way also produces more democratic voters)? it seems to me perfectly sensible on their part to ensure that their concern be met first, since the whole thing is a win-win for the democratic party anyway.

i agree its not what our side would prefer, but it does not strike me as nonsense at all.

    •  About half of the republican party would disagree (0+ / 0-)

with you. Just ask turd blossom how important it is to do both legalization and border control simultaneously.

      •  yes republicans disagree internally... (0+ / 0-)

...on this issue too. not sure how that relates to the point i was trying to make though. i dont imagine you are saying that because turd blossom thinks the proposal is nonsense, that makes it so?

by the way, i am not saying the proposal is right or wrong. i am saying that it is possible to say a proposal is wrong without dismissing it as nonsense.

guess i am just a bit tired of the over the top  language on so many issues. immigration in particular strikes me as a complex topic.
