  •  It sucks, but it's not surprising. (3+ / 0-)

In general, I still hold to the belief that most Americans have become so dumb, distractible, and complacent that they will put up with any manner or degree of bullshit; but when I see things like this, it makes me wonder if there still might be a tipping point. The question is: where and when?

These aren't people who are dumb...they simply don't have the luxury of picking and choosing where they work. Worse Depression since the Big One, remember?

      •  Way to miss the point. (0+ / 0-)

There are quite a few people here who think there is still hope for people to wake up and find a way to defend their interests. I was simply posing the question ( a rhetorical one, perhaps) of when and how (more so than where) that begins?

        •  Seems to me the lady in the case has done that. (0+ / 0-)

But saying that Americans are too complacent when this very article is about someone who is not makes me wonder if it is not you who are missing a point or two.

          •  Let me ask you this: (0+ / 0-)

How many people do you think are going to follow her lead? Do you think that this is the start of a mass movement, that the masses are going to get off their asses, turn off the Kardashians, and hit the streets because of this?

I commend her, and I wish that more people would follow suit: but the fact remains that for now, she is in a very small minority, and is fighting a very uphill battle that most Americans are still not willing to fight. Do you want to continue disputing that, or can we put this to rest now and get on with our day?

women, students, minorities, the elderly and any other group open to bullying and discrimination grasp what's happening to them and identify the culprits.  Not holding my breath since the Kochs and their ilk are so skillful at suggesting Pres. Obama and the Dems are at fault.  And then you Tweety and his cohort whining that the Dems are terrible communicators.
