Since so many conservative are worshipers at the feet of Ayn Rand...

The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws.
Which is why I find so funny that so many base their argument on 'illegals allians' being criminal.  They are criminal because the guvment says they are criminals.  It is not like, say murder, where there is pretty much a world wide consensus that such behavior should be minimized.

Then they argue against fordable health care because it allows the government to control our live.  Ok, I understand that to many conservatives that only real humans are a certain class of US citizen, and the rest of us are inferior servants, but that is beside the point here.

Like a felony DUI(where there may be no damage or risk of damage, except to oneself) or felony weapon possession, or felony curfew violations, undocumented immigration can be argued to be  crime created by the federal government to create employment.  This is not bad except it increases the deficit and long term expenditures.  For instance, Bush's job creation program, the iraq war, is expected to cost a few trillion dollars over the next generation.
