The United Nations considers prison abuse to be more than 15 days in solitary confinement, yet California prisons have 12,000 in extreme isolation and spends $60 million in Supermax prisons which are an :American abomination," as seen by Jonathan Simon, prof. of Law at UCB in the Berkeley Blog  (www.TheBerkeleyBlog.com)yesterday, the first day of the hunger strike.  He includes a full list provided by the strikers of their "demands."  Like windows, sunlight, end to limitless solitary confinement, a phone call once a week and most of all vocational training and the ability to get a GED.  Encourages people to contact Governor Brown and demand that the strikers get support.
