    (If that's possible) The Secret that the Queen of Daytime woo-woo Oprah endorsed, hard-sold, and made a cultural phenomenon.

    I saw a perfectly reasonable friend take a dive into shallow waters after reading that awful book and make terrible decisions she's still trying to recover from. Strangely, she still thinks that if she has a positive attitude, the universe will fix everything up.

    This stuff is addicting. I completely see how it could have contributed to the Great Recession.

      I wont' go into the details here but needless to say, I haven't heard much about it in recent years. Also needless to say, their lives didn't really get better.
