Will this addition of titanium oxide create any issues with that?

What happens when it's exposed to extreme heat and cold?

You must be a shill for the oil companies!

Sadly, I've encountered just that response when I question potential effects of the latest silver bullet re climate change.  I had the impression that TiO2 was pretty much inert, but a program of applying it to highways all over the world?  Study it first.  Not the usual corporate whitewashing (semi-pun?), but a transparent investigation.  For example, there's this in Wiki:

Titanium dioxide dust, when inhaled, has been classified by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) as an IARC Group 2B carcinogen, meaning it is possibly carcinogenic to humans.
(Not that I know anything at all about the IARC).

It might still not be as bad as what it reduces, but I'm a big proponent of the cautionary principle.

        •  :) You had me worried there for a second! (0+ / 0-)

Sometimes I feel like, as a regular person, I am hedged in on all sides, hoping that I remain ignorant and too intimidated to ask these questions.

          Then I get pissed off.

Then I start digging and asking questions.
