so I can certainly relate to your frustration with gun violence.  I also agree that urgent practical issues need to be addressed.

I think, however, that most political issues have a practical component. For example, civil rights issues effect who can vote and thus, the policies our government implements.

Unfortunately, the prospects for significant progress from the federal government on issues such as gun violence seem very dim, so the best short term hope may be to do what is possible on a local level.

New Orleans. DC. Now near East St. Louis. Also in IL so I hear about what is happening in Chicago 24/7. I honestly don't know what we should do. But what pisses me off is we focus on the mass shootings and not just the random, hour after hour, of deaths in other places.

I tend to fall into the RKBA group (even though I am not a gun owner). I live in a part of the nation where everybody has a gun. They hunt. I don't see getting rid of guns, but my gosh I have come to believe you should need a license.

I know this freaks folks out and it does many of my Republican friends. But I am like you hunt right? They are like sure. I then say your hunting license isn't for bow season is it? They are like no. I then say don't you then think the government might know you have a gun?
