    a right leaning rag, has an opinion writer named Nolan Finley who has this very same obsession. He wrote a while back that he bought a bunch of old style incandescents and stashed them away against the day that Obama bans them.

      More seriously, has it dawned on him that he'll spend more money buying incandescents every year than if he just simply changed to using CFLs or LEDs, and the light quality is not as good?

      (Is it time for the pitchforks and torches yet?)

        endlessly about the light quality, as well as the fact that it takes a minute for them to reach full brightness. He moans about the tiny quantity of mercury in the bulbs. He pretty much ignores the cost of electricity, but he's aghast at the cost of the newer bulbs.

        It's typical right wing nuttery...

          You can get different light colors, including daylight. The new ones are instant on too.

          And the led lights are just amazing. I have one on my desk. It's smaller and brighter than any desk light I've ever had.
