Republicans are masters of debate. First off they "frame" it. Then win. I am a marketing guy and they are just stunning.

Their arguments are rested upon gossamer wings. it's not hard to debate them. It's hard to win, because they don't give a ratsass about FACTS. To them, facts are whatever they can pull out of their shithole.

based argument.  They will attack your sources.

"Truthiness" and reliance on RW talking points is their MO.

Discussing issues with the ones that listen to the RW noise machine is a waste of time.  They are taught how to argue in a way that will only frustrate you because they don't accept that any of your facts are true or bring up non-relevant information to "prove" their point.

            I don't even try anymore.

Republican tax policies have led to financial conditions which have caused Republicans to demand cuts to programs they have always opposed.

          •  And the reason is... (0+ / 0-)

If you look at most GOP positions, they're all based on BELIEF -- feelings, not THINKING.

That's why it's as easy as child's play to undermine their arguments factually.

But it won't make a hill o'beans difference, because their arguments are based on REASON but EMOTION.

If you want to truly undermine a GOOPER got to undermine the basic emotional assumptions they make to arrive at their conclusions. Isn't hard, but also requires a different tack.
