    for stuck bedrock.

    whether injected, or even if it gets into the ground by good old fashioned gravity, the introduction of water along a fault can certainly help bring about slippage.

    (and i had not heard about the linkage between heavy precip and the 1906 quake until now ... cool! thanks for that)
