    That big one in 2011 put and end to injection wells in Arkansas. I felt it up here, about 10 miles south of the Missouri border, and people reported feeling it as far away as 750 km. Fortunately, neither of our 60-year-old hydroelectric dams failed, but both had to be repaired with custom-made parts within the next coupla months.

    During the housing fraud, developers sold a lot of flood-plain property because the dams had prevented flooding on the White River for so many decades. The reservoir behind Bull Shoals dam, just upriver from me, 45,000 acres and is 600 feet deep in places, so it would have been an unthinkable amount of water and debris.

    Frankly, I found it hard to believe our state did the right thing ;)
