  •  Maybe what these states really need... (10+ / 0-)

is a dueling law! Anyone with a concealed carry permit would have to display their dueling code number on person and vehicle. A couple of quick texts to the authorities with the opponents number, challenges made and accepted, they meet in officially sanctioned dueling zones (with nice high berms around them for public safety), the official observer gives them the go from his bulletproof observation booth, and they can blaze away at each other all their little macho hearts desire.

And of course, in keeping with proper manly Republican oops, I mean American values, they'd each be responsible for their own medical care and/or burial expenses, because goodness knows we wouldn't want an insurance company to take a risk like that, now would we?

    •  Literally, WI repealed their anti-dueling law (1+ / 0-)

This was way back in the 60's, iirc.

I was reminded of this when I was doing a little research about the WI Constitution and statutes few months ago. It looked like they had repealed the statute that banned dueling. So maybe dueling was now permitted? I just had to look for more information about this.

Eventually, I figured out that other statutes also made dueling a crime. So that one section of the statute was redundant.
