  •  Well, it made me go look up TOR and think (0+ / 0-)

    about what it meant. For me anyway that was useful to consider.

    I wonder if a campaign to popularize TOR in order to diffuse the focus of the NSA would gain traction. It would be a fun culture jam.

      point it becomes IMPOSSIBLE to know what to decrypt and what to ignore.  One of my computers once passed a EMF emission audit test NOT because it was SO SECURE, but because the mainframe was so INSECURE, and there was SO MUCH EMF pollution that the equipment could not decipher a signal, and see what was going on.  Horrible way to pass, but a pass is a pass.  

      The same would be true about encryption data, if EVERYONE uses TOR or a VPN the shear magnitude of the data being captured would overwhelm the systems, there by making the system secure due to pollution of the data set!
