    By reducing it to these hyper-factual minutiae, the prosecution was practically begging for a case of reasonable doubt.
    but the courtroom is precisely the place to do this: the more details, the less likelihood a compelling story can be pieced together.

    i think all lawyers must know this, but they sure don't act like it in the courtroom.
