  •  please take this with the smile on my face.. (0+ / 0-)

it only appears condescending when you're young.

when you're old, it is simply bitter irony.

the "institution" you call "police" is comprised of many individuals - good individuals who willingly risk their lives to protect the rest of us.  some of those individuals are there for the wrong reasons - it is those who should be weeded out.

for the ones who go out every day to "protect and serve" - they should be commended and lauded.

those were the officers who went to the giftcenter friday.  those are the ones who try to bring the gang kids back into society here in e.p.a. those are the ones who should be encouraged - not painted with the same broad brushstrokes of the ones who abuse their positions.

when i read your words, i don't see credit where credit is due - only anger and fury.

anger and fury, to be effective, have to be aimed with targeted precision - that is the ONLY way to succeed - whether through legislation, through forcing out those who don't belong (in the police, in politics, anywhere).

and, again, please recognize that with age and experience, perspective changes - it has to - more information, more input to base opinions upon.

you'll understand, too, when you are old (notice, i didn't say "older" - the key is "old".  getting there sucks - aches, pains, stuff like that - also losing some of the belief that we can move mountains overnight.  i wish with all my heart that we could.

if there were a way to combine the passion of youth and the experience of old people, maybe we could (or, at the very least, shift that mountain an inch further).

now - really - i'm off to the barn.  found what i've been searching for these last four days - (senior moment losing important stuff in 10 x 9 ft room)... so i really AM outta here for a while.

    •  I'm not going to have this conversation (0+ / 0-)

      right now.

It is condescending and for you to just double down and say it's only condescending because I'm young makes it that much worse.

If debt were a moral issue then, lacking morals, corporations could never be in debt.

      •  okay - maybe next time we see each other (0+ / 0-)

face to face is easier to understand than on a neutral screen.

i envy you your youth - especially with these aching joints - enjoy - wish i were young again, too!
