but we'll have to see if the Obama coalition shows up at the polls.   The GOP should remember that women vote more regularly than men however, and if they are alienating independent, "moderates" and even some conservative women, then that will make make them lose elections.   They really should have learned from 2013 that they can't turn off women and win elections.

I agree with President Obama, our country's journey is not yet complete. We must continue the work that our forebearers at Seneca Falls started, and put the Equal Rights Amendment into our Constitution.

women's vote is driven our way but they're advertising Obamascare at women right now to try to drive them their way same as they did in 2010. Meanwhile the abortion progress will energize their base.

        •  i don't think the progress (12+ / 0-)

will energize their FEMALE base.  it didn't in Missouri.  do you remember Claire McCaskill's brilliant ad campaign after the deadline had passed for Akins to withdraw?  featuring R women speaking of their support for a women's right to choose?  powerful stuff.

i know Republican women and they may not come out and say they support a woman's right to chose, but they don't support turning back the clock.  a lot of women my age knows someone who died from a botched abortion.   their daughter's have friends who have had legal abortions and gone on with their lives.   even one of my siblings, as unpolitical, by choice, as she can possibly be (she likes her bubble!) knows who "Wendy" is.   by first name.

but we need more attention because these guys aren't giving up.
