  •  My opinion began to change when I found (0+ / 0-)

articles talking about Zimmerman mentoring black youths and having a business partnership with a black man, so obviously that begins to make me question when he is racist.  The FBI in their investigation found as follows:

which is pretty much in line with my thinking that he wants to be a hero, a good guy, and can't accept that he was wrong because it would shatter his belief system.

I think Daily Kos is exactly the right place to get away from simplistic, knee-jerk reactions and delve into a deeper understanding of why these tragedies occur.

I never led, I never followed, I never joined.

    •  you can do those things and STILL be a racist (0+ / 0-)

that makes no difference.  He murdered an unarmed child in cold blood.  It doesn't matter he got off, it doesn't matter he will grow more paranoid as the years go on and likely kill again - he had NO remorse at all for any of it and has stated he would do it all the same again - even knowing that Trayvon was not a thief, was not in the neighbourhood without a reason - was only going back to his family after leaving the corner store.

      He's a murderer.

And we sail and we sail and we never see land, just the rum in the bottle and a pipe in my hand...
