    We have an unprecedented number of nominations just sitting in the pipeline. THAT is what is "unprecedented," Washington Post — not trying to do something about it. Stop feeding the GOP narrative.

    As for all the railing against , I think part of the problem is precisely that. These guys are too anxious to be seen as reasonable and doing the right thing by Beltway insiders, who don't speak for the rest of us. I wish we had a Senate leader more in touch with life outside the Beltway, like, say, Sherrod Brown. I know, I know, that's just dreaming ...

    Still, I can't help being a little optimistic because I know what a vast world of good Rich Cordray can do for ordinary citizens. I have campaigned with him and watched his work in Ohio, and he's amazing, which is why the GOP is worried about him. I hope he comes back to Ohio in 2016 and runs for the Senate against Portman.
