  •  Not totally blue dog (5+ / 0-)

More like the Democratic side of the aisle is in disarray.

Blue dogs have imploded, progressives aren't yet quite ascendant.

We need leadership and a coalition.  And yes, a vision, or rather, the articulation of a vision.

Republicans are actually helping Dems in this by being so aggressive about what THEY believe in.

Even blue dog dems and moderate republicans seem to be becoming alarmed at the dismantling of higher education and draconian social laws.

These not only embarrass the state but discourage business owners from moving here, because business owners know that with these laws in place they will no longer be able to attract the best and the brightest to the state.

Just because the government keeps a record of real property transfers, it doesn't mean that the government wants to confiscate your home.

How about ALL education?  Paul Stam with his "public funds for private school voucher program" for example.  But the list goes on and on and on.  cripple gun laws, cut off unemployment, restrict abortion, frack a shale formation unlike any that's ever been fracked before without any real idea what will happen for 3 years worth of gas, harden the coastline against barrier island movement but ignore any scientific evidence of sea level rise.  Disenfranchise as many people as possible who are unlikely to vote for you, and while you're at it pass up a chance to have federal funds to expand voter access.  And don't even think of expanding Medicaid.

Oh, and lie about all of it.  Tell the folks delivering the petition to your office that you're in a meeting... playing baseball.

The only hope there is for any of this to be stopped is to keep calling them out on it and hope it's enough.

I'll believe corporations are people when one comes home from Afghanistan in a body bag.

properly arrayed while blue dogs ape Republicans and push Republican policies.

Whether it is Blue Dogs or Republicans imploding, doesn't really matter. Without progressive policies and pushback against failed conservative policies, all you can expect is disarray out of a Center Right Democratic caucus.

I'm not quite saying this right, grr... but this is what I see all over the place when Democrats run to the right. The further we run to the right, the further we are from our values. When things get tough there is no ideology to fall back on.

Democracy - 1 person 1 vote. Free Markets - More dollars more power.
