Google is a serial privacy violator, they sell data from your email, from everything you do in Chrome or its search engine, from the Android App store, from Google street view. But it's all good because they generously "custom deliver ads relevant to [my] interests". They're swell guys 'n gals who just want to make the internet cheaper for all. No, Google is a massive corporate surveillance machine.

At the Techonomy conference in 2010, Eric Schmidt predicted that "true transparency and no anonymity" is the way forward for the internet: "In a world of asynchronous threats it is too dangerous for there not to be some way to identify you. We need a [verified] name service for people. Governments will demand it." He also said that "If I look at enough of your messaging and your location, and use artificial intelligence, we can predict where you are going to go. Show us 14 photos of yourself and we can identify who you are. You think you don't have 14 photos of yourself on the internet? You've got Facebook photos!"

I never liked you and I always will.

if everyone on-line could be an identified, certified human, then  verifiable on-line voting becomes a possibility.  Of course,  this does play hob with the notion of the privacy of the voting booth.

If everyone could participate directly in governance, so-called "Representatives" could be eliminated as redundant.

yeah, I know; pretty far out there...

don't always believe what you think
