    I detest the DH, especially because of the loss of strategic moves during the game, and this does something to address that.  Not crazy about the idea of taking pitchers out of the batting equation, though.  If the DH came in after the starter, that might make it easier.

    Part of the glory of an NL no-hitter or perfect game is the fact that the pitcher never get taken out of an at-bat (even when a run may be desperately needed).  The drama and tension of this fact is too good to lose.

    Like you, I'm an NL fan.  But I suspect I'm also more of a hard-liner.  The only thing that prevents me refusing a compromise flat out is the opportunity for aging players to keep playing longer.  But I can't quite make clear if I think it's worth it.  I'm too wracked with guilt at the thought of saying no, it isn't.
