  •  Facebook Mass Checkins (3+ / 0-)

I remember when I was a kid the town drunks came to Sunday Mass and stood in the front hallway occasionally peeking in through the door. They never actually came in and sat down.

Facebook Checkins would have been soooooooo much easier for them.

The Catholic Church was a farce then and it is now. Nothing changes - except the jokes which now have a technological bent.

This is why Christians get to argue they are under attack. Your hate. Right here.

P.S. I'm not a Catholic. I just call out hate speech when I see it.

Because, you know, calling them a farce and all has the same impact as threatening an eternity in hell does.

Really, that was just him/her calling out actual farcical behavior, not hate speech.  Nobody's calling for churches to be burned or for priests to be beaten and tied to fence posts in Wyoming or anything.

That was called criticism.  It can be valid or invalid.  It cannot, however, be called hate speech.

offended, you might want to read this book:  by a noted historian who presents the facts objectively.

I don't think anyone is under attack.  Criticism of past and present failings of any organization can and perhaps should always be mitigated to some extent by the good they do, or have done.  Doesn't mean they can't do better...

      •  Yeah, (0+ / 0-)

I've got a bundle of in-laws who are expert at waving the victim flag.  By the time they are in their early 20's, it's 2nd nature.

Try being a Unitarian/Humanist; we're blamed for everything, except what the Mormons are guilty of.
