or elsewhere and pull up a "state gas price map" (e.g. here) AND SEE THE THE MIDWEST STATES THAT ARE GETTING THE TARSANDS OIL HAVE SOME OF THE HIGHEST - NOT LOWEST - GAS PRICES IN THE COUNTRY.

IOW, there is NO break for the consumer resulting from the depressed midwest crude prices due to the "standed oil" - they are paying the same amount as everyone else (their higher prices are linked to state gas tax rates).

The entities that are benefiting from the current situation are the refiners (think the Koch Brothers and their huge pile of PetKoch in Detroit) who pay less for their feedstock but then turn around and charge full global prices for the finished product.

For the life of me I don't get why people like this diarist (and the supposed consumer group - I suspect it must be one of those astroturf organizations - they link to) put out misinformation covering for fuckwads like the Koch Brothers (and the other Big Refiners who are in general equally shady, e.g., BP, etc).
