  •  I'm more concerned (4+ / 0-)

with Renee Ellmers than any of the likely contenders.  She's young and cute and fresh and sweet and all those things the whitebread voters beyond the tree line will love.  It helps, though, that she's essentially a rookie House member and not very well known outside her district.  Virginia Foxx is another worry, and the only one of the leading contenders likely to have any name recognition, but she's a a batshit crazy old woman who puts people off.  Kinda like Liddy Dole in 2008, who self destructed at the end of the campaign.

Tillis and Berger probably have some name recognition because of their respective positions in the NCGA, but it's impossible to know if they were elected because they're popular in their districts or simply because they were the only choice on the ballot. Tillis I know ran unopposed, and I believe Berger did as well.  And the recent buffoonery in the NCGA is not going to aid either of their causes.

I wouldn't go so far as to call Hagan's seat "safe", but she can hold her own.  And if the circus continues on Jones St, there may be nobody left to challenge her.

I'll believe corporations are people when one comes home from Afghanistan in a body bag.
