  •  There are still more US and Russian (6+ / 0-)

...nuclear weapons and launch vehicles than were available to both side during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  And then there's China, which is now doing space exploration.

Another round of serious US and Russian arms reductions until China can be brought into the negotiations is necessary and preliminary to any talk about rolling back other nations's weapons.

And Israel absolutely has to become honest about its WMD programs and under international agreements.  Another major block to stopping proliferation of nuclear weapons.

    •  I personally believe that at least the Russians (0+ / 0-)

have at least as many Nukes now than at the height of the Cold War cause I'm thinking that for every Warhead they scrape under treaties they built at least 2 Warheads to replace 'em in those secret Factories as people work or else and that the day may come for US Generals to say as Germany Generals probably said at Kursk "where did all those fucking Russian Tanks come from?" only it will be about Nuclear Warheads.

      •  Any physical or economic indicators to indicate (0+ / 0-)

that it's true, or just a paranoid guess?

In return the US paid Russia for their uranium.

Since then, the US has devoted more funds to the military and to "nuclear weapon modernization" than the Russians have.

The Cold War seems to still being fought in your head.
