    (for at least the second time). Albertson's has a terrible labor record. But I will say something about Market Basket, echoing the comment I made downthread: you can tell their employees are invested in their jobs. Hannaford used to be like that, until they were sold off to some European conglomerate and they screwed over the workers, took what little control they had over their own schedules away, and a friend of mine who's a manager at the flagship store in Portland (ME) says it has become a miserable place to work.

    I'd hate to see that happen to a venerable MA/NH chain with a great reputation not only for customer value but for treating their employees like human beings.

    I resent that. I demand snark, and overly so -- Markos Moulitsas.
