    •  Well, various states do have criminal defamation (0+ / 0-)

      laws, so hypothetically since defamation is the umbrella term for both slander and libel, I'm not sure that's true. No federal criminal statute on slander, though.

        From what I could see on a quick browse, only four or five of them seem they could be stretched to cover slander and only two expressly do so.
