    a market is a fairly useful device for the distribution of goods and services; using the device skillfully to achieve that goal can result in profit and wealth as a by-product.

    When that device becomes corrupted by those seeing it as a tool to create wealth, that the wealth is the goal, not the goods and services efficiently distributed, the result is a cancer on the body politic.

      When you hear "free market" you're being sold a bill of goods. That term has been used to promote an economic paradigm that has been disastrous for this country and the world. There is no such thing as a "free" market. All markets need rules and to the extent that "free" means deregulated, well ... we've seen the results.

      The free market is not the solution, the free market is the problem.
