  •  My suspicion is that cops go easy on (4+ / 0-)

    guys like that because none of them want to be the police department that gets sued all the way to SCOTUS for something "so minor."

    It wouldn't surprise me if some of these guys are deliberately testing the limits because they want to be the case that goes to SCOTUS.

      In specific, at this particular location it is likely that attempts to bring in weapons are taken very seriously.  In 1988, a man took a gun into the Dane County Courthouse and killed two people.  Memories are long.

        Security was already tight, but somehow political candidate who lost (IIRC) was able to sneak a handgun into a NY City Hall, during a council meeting and shoot a member of the NYC council.

        and they should have their names printed in the paper just like other criminals get printed in the paper when they are arested.
