    fb shares and tweets. and I know what you mean.

    but rec list diaries can be tweeted and facebooked too, can't they?  even if kos is not keeping track of the impact of diaries on the right side of the page?

      My basic point is this: the impact of front page posts far outweighs that of right side posts.  It's not even close, which is why the diarist asked for more coverage of such issues by more of the fp writers.

      I'll give you one concrete example: one week, the "Green Diary Rescue" by MB was also put on the Daily Kos Facebook page (not every fp article makes it to FB).  It got several times more tweets and Facebook likes than usual.  For those of us advocating greater environment coverage on the fp for a long time, we follow these things very closely behind the scenes.

      I must mention that I'm thrilled that beach babe in fl was recently promoted to the fp as a Feature Writer by Markos.  So, now it's her, MB, and Laurence (and occasionally, Mark and Markos) from whom you'll see articles on the environment.
