    took the path he did.

    But there was deception on his part toward the left.  Sure, we projected some stuff too.  Who knows what the ratio of deception to projection was.  But it's not vanishingly small, as you're suggesting.  That's documentable by his statements vs. his actions, e.g. domestic surveillance.

    Facts matter.  We all have a right to our opinions but not to our own facts.

      he changed on marriage equality and i liked that change

      he changed on domestic surveillance and i don't like that change

      but i never expected him to be static.  i actually expected him to be agile and responsive.  well, i expected a tension between what he walked into the presidency with and what he found once we got there.  he hasn't changed to a degree that he has fundamentally let go of where he was on issues when he ran in 2008.  so, i am pretty happy with him on issues.
