    is a cost center for most businesses, and like I have mentioned, businesses won't do it without regulatory pressure to do it. There are few industries in the U.S. with a security require at all (e.g., medical with HIPPA and some financial with GBLA), but for the most part, there are not security standards other than the vague requirements of the FTC section 5 driven standards. Unfortunately, the EU is no better despite having more rules because they leave it to risk management/ cost-benefit analysis and reasonableness standards that a child could manipulate.
