  •  Hi there, Effers! (17+ / 0-)

It's a rainy Monday but I am on vacation and doing nothing. Just hangin' here.

It's National Fortune Cookie Day. What's the best fortune you ever got? Give an example of the sort of fortunes you would put inside fortune cookies for your friends and family. Well, you asked. Already been diaried.

Do you think you could get a song stuck in other people's heads? What song? Sure. It has to be something stupid and repetitive like this.

How far have you ever walked in one day?
20 miles, up and down big and little Kennesaw Mountains and Cheatham Hill at the Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park. I was in Boy Scouts at the time.

Did you ever train an animal to do anything? No, but every cat I've ever owned has trained me.

The Preparedness Day bombing and its aftermath are a really ugly incident in our nation's history. If you think right wing extremism is a new thing, check out what happened nearly a century ago. I wrote a too long diary about it:

On July 22, 1916, an event occurred that resulted in two innocent men being held as political prisoners by the state of California for 22 years. The story involves a sordid mixture of corrupt public officials, the military-industrial complex, yellow journalism, class warfare, heartless Republicans, unscrupulous strikebreakers, a prosecution frame-up, and terrorism. Viewed through the prism of today, nearly one hundred years later, the story emerges as a paradoxical object lesson, both heartening and disheartening, cynical and idealistic.
I really got into the story as I researched it. Tom Mooney was a true working class hero.

Thanks for the F Bomb, Floja. It's always a joy.

Have a wonderful day and an effing good week, Effers!
