There is a time gap between Zimmerman telling dispatch he lost Trayvon and when they somehow engaged in a confrontation.  Considering how close the house was where he was staying, he could have easily reached home if he had ran the whole way (maybe 30 seconds total).  The fact that he did not could be attributed to several possibilities:

    1. He could have been lost, but not likely since the layout of the neighborhood is pretty simple: just one back alley for him to run down.

    2. He could have thought he could not run away and so he hid.

    3. He might have hidden with the intent of waching or maybe ambushing

It just seems so puzzling since he could have probably easily reached home safely if he really was afraid, which seems likely.  So why didn't he?  Was he indignant about being followed and looking for a fight?  We'll probably never know.

    •  Maybe he didn't relish the idea of leading... (10+ / 0-)

      •  GZ wouldn't have known no one else was home. (0+ / 0-)

If TM had such a long head-start as the time gap indicates, what would have prevented him from going around from the back to the front of the home (which was at the very end of the row of homes), and going inside?  GZ would never had known where TM disappeared to.
