  •  The fact that the victim was black (3+ / 0-)

    bruh1, never forget 2000, greengemini

made that presumption a fact once the jury was selected. White women of that age have been taught to fear black people in general and black males in particular and the defense was banking on that.

Fear doesn't just breed incomprehension. It also breeds a spiteful, resentful hate of anyone and everyone who is in any way different from you.

but keeps hiding behind the legal language despite his awareness of what Juror b37 said was her motivation

Which wasn't "reasonable doubt" as he means it, but that she thought the force excessive, but made it clear she identified with the defendant more than the victim.

It really is becoming a matter of a bunch of talking points in which I guess those who need to believe absolutely in the process are going to deny what is pretty clear from Juror B37

    •  Of what age? (0+ / 0-)

I am over 50 and one of the best places I have ever lived in in a Jamaican neighborhood.

You are reacting to your biases;.

      •  I did not say (0+ / 0-)

that the societal conditioning drove the reactions of all white women in the jurors demographic... and we both know for every woman in that demographic such as yourself who may be comfortable around black males with whom she is not familiar there are hundreds...if not thousands... who immediately feel threatened/anxious/fearful... even though the majority of which have had no negative personal encounter with any black male and many of which have had limited to no personal encounters with black males of any kind at any time.

I am not reacting... and the biases in play are not mine.

Fear doesn't just breed incomprehension. It also breeds a spiteful, resentful hate of anyone and everyone who is in any way different from you.
