    activities beyond camping... Girl Scouts of Northern California have a huge range of activities, and even at the camps, some of the units are fairly urban in context - focusing on beauty or fine arts or cooking or theater other indoor tasks. None of those are for me or my daughter, but the outdoor activities are wide ranging, and there's great sciency stuff too - marine biology, lego robotics, rocketry, etc.

    And I only wish we had time to do all the activities that are offered.

    Point of note: you don't generally have to be in a troop to go to camp or to do many of the council activities.

    But! The camps are IMHO pretty central to the experience, and irreplaceable. Girl Scouts have the camp thing really well done and there's nothing else quite like it.

    Fry, don't be a hero! It's not covered by our health plan!
